Rev. Dr. Ed Williams grew up on a farm in the mountains, moved to a small town near the coast, then back to a medium-sized city in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. After college, he worked in a recording studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil, enjoying more ethnic, language, and musical diversity than he had ever dreamed existed. He served as the Senior Pastor of Streams of Hope Church from 1991 until the merger when he became the executive pastor of Pathwyas Baptist Church.
Rev. Dr. Williams holds a BA in Religion from Carson-Newman College, along with an MDiv with concentrations in Missions and Evangelism and Ph.D. in Christian Ethics with a minor in Preaching from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Pastor Paula and her husband, Peter, joined Streams of Hope Church in 1996 and Pathways Baptist Church since the merger in 2016. She served in many capacities as a lay leader, including the chairman of the deacons, women's ministry leader, small group leader and the church chef before entering seminary to pursue a calling into professional full time ministry.
As a multi-racial family (Greek, African-American and Ethiopian), it is important to the Moutsos family to worship in a multi-cultural community of faith.
Pastor Paula holds a BA in Communications from Clark-Atlanta University, completed a 3 year ACF Certified Apprenticeship Program at Westin Hotel & Resorts, and earned a Masters in Theological Studies at Bethel Seminary of the East.
Pastor Clark was born and raised in the Washington, DC area. He served as the Pastor of Worship and Missions for Streams of Hope Church for 15 years prior to the Pathways merger. He joined Streams of Hope Church as a member in 1991 and joined the staff in 1996.
He has been active in missions all of his adult life, including serving as a missionary in Northeast Brazil (where he met his wife). He has led teams on overseas mission trips since the year 2000 and continues to organize and participate in trips to Brazil, Jamaica, Kenya, and the Philippines.
He holds a BS in Church Ministries from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Rev. Jonathan Der was born and raised in St. Louis MO, and after college, proceeded to move all around the country to help next generations find and follow Jesus. He comes to Pathways with 20+ years of student ministry experience in all sorts of settings, eager to see how God will use him next! Hopefully that will involve lots of meals with all our different families and cultures, learning about and auditioning for our bell choir, and leading our student ministries towards even more dynamic growth, all with great laughter and joy.
Pastor Jonathan holds dual BAs in English Literature and Religious Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.
